Wiscasset Green Annual Barbeque Serves up Family, Food and Fun

On a warm summer day some weeks ago, Wiscasset Green in Wiscasset held its annual barbeque and this year gathered 37 folks to participate in the event including Wiscasset Green residents, staff, volunteers, family members and ElderCare Network board member Les Fossel.  Wiscasset Green manager Marge Overlock’s husband, Carl grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for the group accompanied by fruit salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, watermelon and ice cream bars for dessert.

Seven Wiscasset Green residents were in attendance as well as residents’ family members and two beloved local volunteers.  Three staff members along with three staff’s children helped out by serving food and drink to those seated in the lovely, comfy patio area.  A resident’s daughter provided lively musical entertainment by playing the accordion to the delight of all.  Several folks from Senscio Systems software were visiting and enjoyed the fun and Wiscasset Green’s “godfather” Les Fossel stopped by to join the festivities.

All agreed that this year’s event was the best yet and folks are already talking about the 2017 summer barbeque.
