ElderCare Network Holds Ice Cream Social at Waldoboro VFW Hall

At least 20 residents of the “Greens” traveled to the VFW Hall in Waldoboro last month for an ice cream social with music and dancing.  Crystal Leeman, Edgecomb Green manager was inspired to organize an Ice Cream Social and enlisted the help of other “Greens” managers” to pull off the very successful event!

Kim Palino, Waldoboro Green manager booked the hall and purchased Round Top Ice Cream to the delight of all the participants.  All the Greens employees brought a variety of toppings for the ice cream sundaes enjoyed by all on a hot summer day.

A highlight of the get-together was the music of Bill Lake; he roamed around with his guitar singing songs and filled the room with music.  Several residents were moved to get up on their feet and dance!  Dr. Chip Teel, President of the Board of Directors of the ElderCare Network of Lincoln County, attended the social and transported several Hodgdon Green residents from Damariscotta.  At the most recent director’s meeting, Chip commented on the incredibly positive effect the music had on all those in attendance.  Chip even enjoyed a dance or two with some spry elders motivated by the lively music.
